Assessment and property tax information is available online for active parcels.  You can find it by clicking here.

The Treasurer is responsible for the collection and distribution of all property taxes paid by City of Belleville residents and businesses.

  • Property taxes are based on the taxable value of your property multiplied by the millage rates levied by various taxing units (state, school, county and city)
  • To estimate your annual property taxes, use our property tax tables (see downloads in the box)
  • Summer property tax statements will include the school tax plus 100% of the Wayne County operating millage allowed by state law.  Summer taxes are payable without interest if received by August 31st
  • Winter property tax statements will include county taxes and the city's local taxes.  Winter taxes are payable without interest if received by February 14th

The Treasurer's office works in conjunction with mortgage companies to ensure that your taxes are paid on time.  Please notify us in writing of mortgage company changes you may make during the year (see contact information in box).
