A Parks and Recereation Master Plan is the blueprint, or the roadmap, for our City parks and their recreational uses. It guides those principles for the City by addressing future land uses and current and future recereational concepts in a coordinated fashion that is sustainable, resilient and age friendly.
City of Belleville Master Plan - Draft Copy available
The City of Belleville is in the final phase of updating the City Master Plan. (CLICK HERE to view a draft copy) A city master plan is a comprehensive, long-term strategic document that provides a blueprint for future growth, development, and management of areas in the city, outlining a shared vision, goals, and specific strategies for land use, infrastructure, environment, and community needs to ensure orderly, sustainable, and aligned progress. It acts as a guide for decisions, ensuring short-term actions support long-term objectives.
Pursuant to the requirements of 125.3841 (Sec. 41) of the Michigan Planning Enabling Act (Public Act 33 of 2008), the draft Master Plan for the City of Belleville is being made available for your review and public comment. The Planning Enabling Act provides surrounding communities and other respondents with 63 days to provide public comments. This review period expires at 4:00 pm (close of business) on March 12, 2026. Any response before that date would be appreciated.
Veterans Banners
The 2025 Veterans Banners have been taken down and are ready for pick-up at City Hall(6 Main St), between the hours of 8a and 4p, in the front office where you normally pay your water and/or tax bills. Photos used to create those Veterans Banners are aslo avaiable to be picked up in the same office.
