IMPORTANT ABSENTEE BALLOT UPDATE

City of Belleville voters: Please note an important update about absentee ballots for the upcoming election.

Absentee ballots were mailed beginning September 23^rd.  On September 28^th Wayne County Elections notified City of Belleville, Sumpter Township and Van Buren Township of a printing error on the ballots.  An omission had been identified involving the Belleville Area District Library Board portion of the ballot. This omission affects all absentee voters in City of Belleville, Sumpter Township, and Van Buren Township.

A corrected absentee ballot will be mailed as soon as the new ballots are printed. When you receive a new ballot in the mail, please watch for additional instructions included with your ballot.

The City of Belleville Clerk’s Office is working to ensure voters have the information they need. We will share additional details, including images to help identify the corrected ballot, as soon as they are available.
