Priority Waste is under contract with the City of Belleville to provide solid waste, recycling, yard waste, and bulky trash pickup services to City residents.   City residents (i.e. those with a 3-digit street address) have a Thursday pickup day each week, with a few exceptions.  Charges for these services are included in your “water bill.”

Each cart has a serial number associated with your service address.  Please do NOT place hot ashes, construction debris, and/or hazardous waste in your cart.  You may use a regular garden house and dishwashing soap to clean your cart, as needed.  For household hazardous waste collection, please contact the Wayne County Resource Recovery Coordinator at (734) 326-3936 or visit, the Department of Public Services.

Unless otherwise notified by Republic, there will be no collection on the following six holidays:

          New Year’s Day           Labor Day
          Memorial Day           Thanksgiving Day
          4th of July           Christmas Day

When the holiday falls on a weekday, there will be no collections on that day, and the rest of that week’s refuse, recycling, and yard waste will be collected one day later than usual.  If the holiday falls on a weekend, your collection day will NOT change.

Recycling will be collected every Thursday along with your solid waste and yard waste collection.  All recyclables must be placed in your recycle bin prior to setting curbside.  Republic accepts the following items:

Bulky items are anything you cannot place in your curb cart or can, such as carpet (must be bundled no more than 3 ft in length and secured for one-person handling), water heaters, mattresses and box springs, furniture and large appliances.  These items may be placed out for collection on Thursday.

NOTE:  Please call 586-228-1200 or 855-927-8365 to schedule pickup of bulky items as Priority Waste will need to send out a separate vehicle for this service.

Grass clippings, leaves, brush and other yard waste will be collected every week from April 1st through November 30th on Thursdays.  Yard waste must be placed in biodegradable Kraft paper bag or placed loosely in a 32-gallon can clearly marked YARD WASTE ONLY and placed at the curb.  Twigs, brush and shrubbery must be tied in bunches not more than 4 feet in length and not more than 6 inches in diameter.
